Medical:
While healthy hearts have four chambers, Cameron was born with Hypoplasic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) He has had three heart surgeries which include the Norwood Procedure, the Glenn and the Fontan. He was also born with 1 kidney which was damaged after the Glenn. He received a year of steroid treatment for that and is now doing great as far as the kidney function.

I am not his mother I am his grandmother who has legal custody of him and makes all medical decision on his behalf.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to pop in and say hello..and let everyone know that Cameron has been doing very well these past few months. He will have his yearly Cardio Visit on June 17th at Childrens..all day appointment but looking forward to hearing how he is doing heart wise. He continues to do great in school. Learning so much and we are so proud of him. He is just so smart...and his 6th Birthday is coming up next week..it amazes me how far he has come and how he continues to be so energetic even with school....He has all the teachers and especially the office workers and Nurse wrapped around his finger. God Bless to everyone who tunes in and continues to pray for us.

Sorry there has been no update lately, Our daughter Valerie was killed in a car accident on July 27th and we have been so upset and trying to come to terms. Cameron just loved her and she was on her way to see us when she was killed. I put up her picture with Cameron in the main display..its of the day he came home from his Fontan surgery and all he wanted to do is cling to her. She was going to get married next month on the 9th and its just been so hard for all of us. Cameron is doing ok..he had a pacemaker clinic on the 7th of Aug..and did well so he don't have to be checked for 2months. But he does have an upcoming appointment with the Nephrology dr. on Aug 31st where they will be checking his kidney growth..please keep him in prayer that all will be well and he can do without a future kidney transplant...
He is also heading into his first day of kindergarten on Monday the 27th..and I still haven't met his teacher...
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us...its what has kept us going..and please do keep it up..we really need it. Somedays I just can't think straight but can feel someone praying for me and it comforts me to know God has faithful people who really care.
I'll try and let everyone know how the first day of kindergarten goes..I'm a little worried about the heat here and how much Cameron sweats just standing still..but I know I have to let him be a normal kid even if I don't want too. Well thats it for now..keep us lifted as we struggle to live each day without our Beautiful Valerie..God is keeping her safe until we see her again...but we miss her so.
God Bless,
Deeana

I'm sorry its been so long since my last update but he's been fine. He still has his runny nose and cough and seems that his pediatrician has decided to take him off all his allergy meds and just give him one med for the cough...Xopenex inhaler...I am pretty sure he is allergic to the little dog we have....whom he calls his best friend...Ginger...she is a (sp)chawawah and he will be so sad if she has to go...we are going to let my sister have her for a month to see if he gets better and if he does...then she will stay with her indefinally but at least Cameron can go visit her every once in a while but not live with her. Now on to todays event.

He had his pacemaker checkup today..it went well..Cameron's pacemaker is holding the same pattern so far...Dr was pleased that he has continued the same pattern and not spiriling upward. He said that his lead might need to be replaced but not in the near future and that he will continue to monitor the activity it puts out. Said he still has plenty of battery left and so that is good.

We go back again in a month for another pacemaker check and then in May for his Echo and Cardio checkup with labs. I was glad though that Camerons appointment went well and no bad news.
Dr did say that if he becomes very tired to give him a call cause it might be his pacemaker acting up....scary huh...Just keep him in your prayers...also since I am requesting prayer...my youngest grandson Tyler has been sick with double ear infection and miserable...please pray for this to pass soon. Ok that about it for now..thanks for tuning in on this channel and I will update again when I have something to report...Sending Heart Hugs to you all, and
God Bless,

HAPPY NEW YEARS TO EVERYONE!!!

Cameron had his pacemaker checkup today and we finally got home around 4pm...I really dislike that drive. Anyway his Cardiologist said he thought one of Camerons leads to his pacemaker maybe having some problems...and that his thresholds...(which is where he set his pacemaker at) had went up a little but not like it did before..so he wants to see him again in a month to see if there is a trend going on there...I have to tell you I don't fully understand it all but from what he said he wanted to keep a close eye on this...he said that Cameron may be having some scar tissue build up around that one lead but he will know more as he sees what the pacemaker is doing...which takes time to see if there is a trend. So We'll be back in a month. I really hope we're not looking at another surgery down the line....but I need to think positive here..Cameron is doing well and that is all that matters now...Praise God. Life is too short to dewell on the what if's ...So once again putting my worries where worries belong...giving them to God..he knows what it will take to get us thru whatever comes our way...Praise God Again. So thank you for keeping us in your prayers...and keep them coming..I'll update again when there is something to report...so until then God Bless you all and may this New Year bring nothing but Good Health and Many Many Blessings your way...

Cameron update...he is getting so spoiled...he sees all the presents under the tree which are mostly for him and he just can't hardly wait till christmas...but that part of being a kids at Christmas time. Anyway he had another Pediatrician visit last Friday and was taken off Clartin and his nose spray Flonase...it just didn't work on his runny nose and cough at all...so now he is back on Singular and a new inhaler called Qvar for his lungs. I hope it works...He'll go back in a month to see if there are any changes and if not he will be going to see an alergist or his pulmonologist. I really think he is alergic to his dog...but he loves her so much....I may have to get rid of her...but Cameron comes first. The doctor seems to think Cameron will keep a cold for at least the first 6months of entering school...since he has never been around kids in germy enviroment such as pre-school...so maybe he just needs to build up his immune system. Its funny but he was clear for about 2weeks after he came off antibiotics then it started all over again...so doctor may be right....he may be catching a cold over and over again. The only problem with his new meds is the fact that he was on Singular when he was 2yrs old and it caused him to get ear infections over and over again..but since he is older now doctor wanted to give it a try...so we'll see if it works better this time.
He got a big surprise on Saturday afternoon...His Aunt Val came to visit from New Mexico for a week and he is just loving it. He thinks she will do anything he says and boy is he pushing it too. When I say no about something he runs and says "Well Val Will do it" or he wouldn't let me push the shopping cart with him in it, he had to have Val do it...so spoiled...rotton too. I tell him that all the time then I say "but I love you anyway"..I just want him to have a great Christmas...just because I sit and think about his first Christmas in the hospital under a oxygen tent with pnemonia and no one came to visit him except Me of course and a volunteer with cookies and a baby Quilt...His Parents never showed up and I hated seeing him like that...so sick but aware of everything...so from now on I try and make his christmas special...I think we are going to make cookies tonight and maybe somemore fudge too....he loves to cook. So from our hearts to yours We wish you Happy Holidays..and may Jesus be the reason for giving this season.
God Bless,

Hello All,
Its been a whole month since our last update and Cameron has been sick with allergies and colds this whole time. He is going to the Dr. tomorrow to see if there is another med that can be given to stop his runny nose, cough, just when I think he is getting better...here it comes again....and going to school has been so hard for him. I think his immune system has really taken a beating. He was superman on halloween and went trick or treating to only a few houses because he became so tired. Some superman huh..but still my hero.. He has a pacemaker checkup on the 28th of this month..I hope he is better by then. He is suppose to get his flu shott tomorrow but I don't think they will give it to him with his lungs being congested. Albuterol does not even effect him. So maybe dr can prescrib another breathing treatment...Keep him in your prayers that he can overcome this all soon without going into the hospital. I'll let everyone know how the dr visit goes tomorrow. Thanks for your faithful prayers...God is still in control and to him be the glory.

We went in for his pacemaker checkup and he is doing well. Dr Caton said he will see him again in 3months and that his pacemaker is doing great and to give him a call if Cameron starts to tire quickly he may need to adjust the pace...especially since Cameron will be doing more running around in Preschool soon...but for now he is doing fine.

NOW TODAY NEWS: Cameron had his Nephrology appointment and his Renal or Kidney Ultrasound to see how much his Kidney has grown in 9 months. Well it really didn't grow very much...last time it was 7.8cm now it is 7.9cm. I talked for a long time with his Nephrologist and he said that Cameron's Kidney is doing its job for now and that Cameron has grown a bit but his Kidney is keeping up so far he is in the 70 percentile for kids his age... for weight and height....He said that for Cameron's weight and size he really would have like to see his kidney around 9.4cm. and that would be great...(but)... that Kidney transplant will most likely be in a distant future for Cameron...Many many years unless he starts to have problems.

Today they tested his urine for protein and there was a trace...which can be normal...but Cameron's has been negative for over 2yrs...so to hear trace..kinda scared me..I will keep checking with urine dips every so often to make sure he is not relapsing into his Nephritis syndrome. Dr said if he is positive for protein for over 3 days to call and get him in to be seen...I hope that never happens..also he said that Cameron has been in remission from his Nephritis syndrome for 2yrs now and after 3 yrs remission it usually does not return.....So GO Cameron GO....I can't imagine him having to go thru another trial in his upcoming years....I don't even know if his heart can handle a kidney transplant...but hopefully I won't have to deal with it all for many many years as the doctor put it.

I will continue to trust God for everyday given..I know he goes before us and all ready knows our future. I choose to give God the glory yesterday, Today, and tomorrow. I would asked that each and everyone just keep Cameron in your prayers and believe God for a healing of Cameron's Left and only Kidney. Nothing is impossible for Our God.

It means a lot to know that so many care for our little man, and are faithful to pray for us.
Sending out lots of Heart Hugs,

Cameron has a new baby brother born yesterday at 10:15am and weighted in at 7lbs 8oz. His name is Tyler Mckinley.
Cameron is so proud of him. He will be coming home today sometime so Cameron and I are going to visit him and bring him a present or two.
Cameron is doing well staying out of the heat, but his ezcema is really acting up. Well thanks for checking in on us and keeping us in your prayers I'll post again if there are any changes before his next Dr appointment on the 11th of Aug....I think he will be getting immunizations on that day...God bless to everyone.

Just a little update on Cameron's upcoming appointment...with Nephrology...it was canceled today and rescheduled for Aug 30th. He will be getting a ultrasound on his left Kidney...only kidney to check on the size...they need to see if it is growing yet. They will compare last ultrasound then I will talk with the Dr. To see if there was any growth....Lets all pray that his kidney has grown since getting his Fontan...I am hoping with the new cirulation his kidney kicked into gear. I also found out that the ultrasound will in no way effect his Pacemaker...yay...one less thing to worry about. I just give it to God he works everything out. Praying God keeps everyone Happy, Healthy, safe another day.

Cameron is well, doing great so far even in this terrible heat. His eating is still something to be desired but can't complain he is here....and that all that matters. His next dr appointment will be next month on Aug 11th. He will be getting his Kidney checked...but not sure how. I will have to call his Nephrologist to see how they are going to do this...since his pacemaker is placed in front of his kidney I don't think they will be able to do an ultrasound or any scans that uses magnetic resources for it will cause his pacemaker to malfunction and we can't have that....so I guess I will find out tomorrow when I call them...IF... they are in their office. I am so sorry for not posting an update sooner but everything is going great...Cameron is now into using my computer for his pre-school games..and he is just amazing...he can count to 100...and knows all the letters of alphabet but gets confused with lower case letters..but if everything is in Capitals he can read them right out. Hope to start introducing words soon...He just turned 4 in May and it would be great if he can read books by 5. I don't want to push him too hard...but when everything is in game form on the compurter he will stay on it for hours.

Hello everyone, Cameron is doing very well, even posted a new photo in his suit. Got a call from Cardio clinic and Cameron was suppost to have a echo and pacemaker checkup this month but it is now set for May 30th...it will be an all day appointment but of course it always is. Anyway I thought I would just update everyone since its been a while since he got over his cold.

Since he is doing so well we are planning a little trip to Disneyland on the 25th where I know he will have lots of fun.
Well better go, Cameron is getting into something cause he is a little too quiet. Thanks for your prayers and as always may God keep everyone safe, healthy, happy another day
Deeana
